Zonar Systems provides SaaS based, real time safety and efficiency based insights that help our customers manage and optimize their commercial vehicle fleets. I led the application and platform software and infrastructure teams that implement and operate web and mobile products, core data platform, and APIs.Achievements:* Restructured teams and software delivery processes to enable the engineering organization to deliver products at a faster cadence, retain critical customers, and grow market share * Led the team to refactor the system architecture from a monolith to a cloud native, microservice based platform, reducing developer ramp up time from months to weeks* Shifted data model from a highly sharded RDBMS implementation to an event sourced, stream processed, pub/sub solution that enabled real time, cross customer insights and rapid product prototyping * Moved the engineering organization from a traditional Dev/QA/IT model to an integrated model where teams own their uptime and quality* Built a recruiting funnel and accelerated team buildout in order to meet aggressive product and platform goals, growing team from 50 to 120 engineers, and shifted legacy product maintenance overseas

Led the Data Solutions group in the Disney Technology and Shared Services division of Disney. The Data Solutions group supported business units across Disney by providing data infrastructure and services, and analytics consulting.* Led the design and delivery of a data ingestion and analytics platform that allowed teams across Disney to rapidly ingest, process, and analyze data at TB scale, reducing analytics solution delivery by 3-6x* Extended the platform to include document (Mongo) and time series (Cassandra) data stores to accommodate different analytics and runtime use cases.* Implemented and refined agile development and delivery processes across the organization, resulting in more predictable estimation and delivery* Provided guidance to Disney business units as they were building out Big Data analytics solutions that leveraged the Data Solutions platform

RichRelevance provides SaaS based personalization, from recommendations to content to search. I was on the Science and Analytics team, whose charter was to enhance the RichRelevance suite of personalization algorithms used by customers like Sears, Office Depot, Kmart and Costco.* Researched and implemented new recommendation algorithms used to recommend products on RichRelevance customer sites* Extended the RichRelevance recommendation engine with rules based functionality, composable recommendation strategies, and multivariate testing* Converted recommendation engine model building from a SQL based implementation to a Hadoop/Pig based implementation

Evri provided a personalized and topic based news aggregator that exposed a semantic search API, providing entity resolution via natural language and machine learning based analysis of structured and unstructured content.* Led architecture and implementation of data ingestion services* Re-implemented the data ingestion service from a traditional database driven, batch mode ETL service to a streaming, horizontally scaled set of services in AWS* Managed multiple engineering teams through separate sprint cycles to build out different parts of the overall solution
