Arup Kumar Pal currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad, India. Prior to joining this institution, he held the position of Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Jamshedpur from April 2011 to December 2011. He earned his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the Government College of Engineering and Textile Technology in Berhampore, India, in 2006, and completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad in 2011. With over twelve years of experience in teaching and research, he has contributed to more than 100 research papers published in esteemed journals and international conference proceedings. Notably, he has served as the sole or main guide for eleven Ph.D. students who successfully graduated under his guidance. In addition, he has received several Best Paper Awards for his research presentations at various international conferences. Furthermore, he has received several R&D projects from prestigious organizations such as CSIR, DST, MeitY, and C3iHUB IIT Kanpur. His primary research interests include Data Compression, Multimedia Security, CBIR, and Blockchain. He has also organized several Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) in the area of Image Processing and Cryptography and has actively participated as an Advisor Committee member and Technical Programme Committee (TPC) member in various conferences and workshops.
