I work with multiple disciplines (scientists, engineers, facilitators, and others) to deliver a wide variety of projects to our clients. I engage with clients; local, state, and federal agencies; and the general public to develop client relationships and identify project funding opportunities. I've written multiple grants, project proposals, and interviewed for projects. I lead our water planning team in day-to-day priorities and technical issues. I assist company leadership with retreats and other special initiatives.Project types include water quality, flood risk reduction, watershed planning and restoration, stream restoration, lake restoration, prescribed fire, groundwater quality, GIS, and stakeholder engagement. My specific role on each project is specific to the needs, but often includes project management, lead planner, watershed or stream evaluations, and stakeholder engagement.

While in this position I led the growth of our environmental service team. We provided services related for NEPA, environmental planning, wetland delineations, 404 and 401 permitting, storm water erosion planning and inspections (SWPPP), and biological surveys. I was responsible for overseeing project scientists, project management, educating clients and project staff on environmental commitments, ensuring Quality Assurance and Quality Control measures were implemented, and ensuring project budgets and schedules were not negatively impacted by environmental compliance requirements.

As a Natural Resources Specialist I prepared environmental assessments (EAs), coordinated wellhead protection area planning projects and water quality management plans (watershed plans), successfully obtained US Army Corps of Engineers 404 permits, conducted Migratory Bird Treaty Act Compliance (MBTA surveying), prepared Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), conducted SWPPP inspections, and conducted wetland delineations.I've developed many skills, which include GIS. I've developed GIS databases for data collection, collected field data utilizing hand held GPS units and a tablet computer, worked with agencies to obtain proprietary data, delineated watersheds, conducted land-use inventories, and created countless GIS maps for a variety of projects.

As a Hazard Mitigation Assistant Planner I assisting with developing FEMA approved Natural Hazard Mitigation Plans. I worked across the State of Nebraska facilitating public and agency meetings, organizing meeting materials, answering questions, and ensured adequate public participation and involvement in the planning process. In addition, I've assisted in grant writing, collection of background information, and writing supporting documents for inclusion into project deliverables.

As a wildland firefighter, I’ve gained knowledge and experience in dealing with the public, navigating through various government regulations, and acquired hands on knowledge of working with natural resources throughout various geographical regions. During my tenure I was promoted to a leadership level as a result of my understanding of the job, leadership style, and communications skills. I have served as an Assistant Engine Module Leader on a type 6 fire engine, Squad Boss on hand crew, Sawyer on a fuels reduction crew, and a Type-5 Incident Commander.
