I worked on a project exploring interplays between quantum error correcting codes and gravitational entanglement protocols. The 2017 Bose-Marletto-Vedral (BMV) experiment proposed a novel approach to probe the quantum nature of gravity by its ability to induce entanglement between two spin-1/2 masses. Recently, this protocol has been generalised to spin-j systems. Simultaneously, advancements in quantum information science have led to the development of various physical qubit implementations and sophisticated error correction techniques. My project attempted to map concepts from quantum computing to the generalised BMV proposal. I showed that, under certain limits, the experiment is simply the action of a logical gate and began exploring the use of quantum error correction to mitigate the impact of decoherence.

Completed a full project, culminating in the preparation of a manuscript for a paper. Specifically developed a simulation of an experimental apparatus and used this to create a training set of data (responses of the apparatus to various stimuli). This training data was used with a convolutional neural network architecture to create a machine learning solution to converting instrument response into the inputted stimulus. (At a high level converting scintillating array response into the incident gamma ray spectra)
