I strive to : a) maximize functional capabilitiesb) maximize efficiency and reliabilityc) maximize automation in development and testingd) minimize development resourcese) minimize computational resources to run the application back-endTo meet all the above objectives requires not only an in-depth understanding of application domain but also a very sophisticated framework for managing application development life cycle.I designed our first application developmentàl framework named Autocode in 1989. It received very positive reviews from various computer magazines in 90's. Though we had more than 600 users of this framework within a few years, we felt that it would be better if we moved from a framework vendor space to ERP vendor space.Thus, we began developing ERP application in 1995. The application development framework also evolved at a significant pace over years as we developed a best in class large ERP System comprising over 20 modules such as Financials, Procurement, Quality Control, Inventory Management, MRP, DRP, Production Management, Sales & Distribution, GST compliance, HR, Payroll, SOP, Document Management etc. Progen's ERP software is a large, integrated and fully customisable system. We have more than 250 large customers with a installed user base of over 5000 users. The system is fully compliant with 21CFR Part 11 requirements of US FDA and has undergone full validation at several customer sites.I am re-inventing this large Enterprise Application for the next decade. This involves transformation from systems deployed on customer's premises or customer owned cloud resources to SAS model; embracing large scale, multi tenant serverless architecture. Moreover, we are looking to provide significantly deeper digital capabilities driven by Machine Learning, Speech Recognition and Synthesis, Natural Language Processing etc.I believe that next decade will lead to a quantum leap in the way we design, develop and deliver systems and user experiences.
