To manage program implementation in the region and to ensure successful, effective, efficient, and appropriate program delivery, and to provide guidance and input to learning processes and technical capacity building of program staff at all levels.

I led the field operations of Udyogini (an NGO working on the provision of business development services (BDS) to womens’ groups (www.udyogini.org)) and provided technical and managerial support to the BDS Managers across six states of India. My role was to build effective teams at the state level to facilitate BDS services for poor and marginalized women in rural areas. In addition I worked closely with the HR and Account heads to develop and implement systems for improved efficiency, staff performance and fund utilization. I worked closely with the MIS and documentation manager for timely documentation, submission of donor reports and organizing quarterly review meetings. I managed donor liaison with national and international donors to raise funds for the organizations programs.

Participated in a global program on “Social Entrepreneurship” organized by Yale University USA in Yale. Helped the GSE students in developing a project for a village community in Assam, India who are Bamboo mat weaver. I have also participated in all 3 follow up workshop of the course “Global Social Enterprise” in India

Participated in "Share People" international experience week in Netherlands. The social enterprises were studied in India and in Netherlands and experiences were shared with a wide range of audience.

Participated as Senior Researcher in a study to develop a “Gender Strategy” for the World Bank funded Eco development Project for the community living around the periphery of Pench National Park. The villages in buffer zone were surveyed intensively and a Gender Strategy was submitted to the World Bank and MP Forest Department.

My work with Srijan commenced with a study on water tanks in two districts of Madhya Pradesh in Western India (Tikamgarh and Chattarpur in the Bundelkhand region). The study examined the feasibility of state government plans to hand over the management of tank irrigation systems to farmers, and suggest institutional alternatives. Subsequently I worked on formulating a pilot project on rehabilitation of these old tanks which are a critical life line in this drought prone region of the state.

Prepared Detailed Poject Report (DPR) on watershed approach for Ang region in Bihar. An extensive field survey was carried out with seven local NGO’s spread over seven districts of Ang region.

I was responsible for the implementation of programmes on regeneration and management of common property resources, and in particular, the strengthening of village institutions for the equitable distribution of benefits and sustained management of natural resources. Energy conservation interventions were also implemented in project villages. I was also responsible for field surveys and assessment of potential for FES work in five other districts of Rajasthan (Karauli, Baran, Banswada, Dungarpur and Udaipur).

My work involved organizing village communities for the development of community pastures and woodlots on degraded revenue and forest lands; establishment of viable village institutions for the management and distribution of benefits from these community efforts; fodder development on private lands and establishing demonstration agro forestry plots; watershed development / soil and water conservation measures on community and private lands; animal husbandry interventions, particularly productivity enhancement through breed improvement interventions; construction of bio-gas plants to reduce use of fuel-wood, and repair of faulty biogas plants constructed by the government; development of participatory village plans and support to the community for their implementation.

Participated in a field study on Utilization of Medicinal Plants and other Non Timber Forest Produce (NTFP) in two districts of Himachal Pradesh. The study analyzed the linkages and suggested strategies for regeneration and management of medicinal plants and NTFP as a part of Joint Forest Management.

Participated to formulate a project on Reclamation and development of sodic lands in District Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. Village level Socio-Economic Study and Project Formulation.
