Managing the Platform (on-prem, Saas and observability) areas and Continuous Product Delivery (CPD) charter out of India

At Treebo, I was leading two teams of 10-12 people each. •Revamped the entire revenue stack consisting of a Pricing Service, Discounting engine, Channel Manager to push prices to OTAs (ex: booking.com), Tax service along with an orchestrator that will communicate between these micro-services. •Responsible for end-to-end delivery ownership, planning and resource prioritization, interfacing with product and other stakeholders. •For the Discounting Engine, I worked as an individual contributor building it ground up in Java using Drools engine for context matching. Tech Stack – Python, Java, RDS, MongoDB, Redis, RMQ, AWS Lambda, ECS.

Events High is an event discovery platform and marketplace. We bring all events happening in the city, from various online and offline sources, at one place. Users can explore the gamut of events and navigate based on their interests, location, availability and social network. At Events High, I was responsible for - •Tech: I designed the entire stack which included a consumer website with in-built ticketing and a personalization engine, an event organizer CRM dashboard, and Android and iOS apps for both sides. I owned the delivery, product and managed a strong team of developers and designers.Tech Stack: Java, RDS, Memcache, Play Framework, Google App Engine, Firebase, Datastore, Solr. • Cross-functional team management: Managed several cross functional teams - Customer Support Team – Hired, trained and defined processes for the team to respond to queries over calls, emails, FB and reviews. - Content – Led and planned the entire Content roadmap.- Data Quality Team – To ensure events data was accurate and complete.•Marketing and SEO: I worked extensively on SEO, ran various experiments and optimizations, led a team of Content Writers, to scale organic traffic to www.eventshigh.com ranging from 1.2M - 2.5M users per month.•Business Development: I also led the BD efforts in Outdoors vertical, onboarding 250+ organizers, along the way defining a playbook for our BD team to follow.

Worked on Competitive Pricing Systems - both in the online and offline space. Developed a range of data mining solutions to mine various trends and patterns from competitive data. Various insights were generated based on our algorithms which was consumed by business to make smarter decisions. I owned the entire stack and led a 6 member technical team from ideation, to design and delivery. I also worked closely with our customers to understand their pain points, pitch our solutions and led the dialogue which was significant in getting product adoption.Tech Stack – HDFS, Hive, Java, Mysql

Worked on Shopycat - A Social Gifting application that recommends gifts for your friends based on their likes, interests and posts on Facebook.(a) Designed recommendation algorithms to recommend products (gifts) to people based on their interests. Our recommendation engine was online and real time to quickly reflect a user recent interests.(b) Designed a large scale system to collect and process data for 100M+ Facebook users, 1M+ products and 10M+ interests. Technologies used - Cassandra, Mupd8, Mysql.

Working in the back-end of www.tweetbeat.com to deliver real-time social media content. (a) Designing and developing a real-time distributed platform to create various APIs over social media content.(b) Implemented algorithms/APIs for Stream, Popular Tweets, Popular Headlines and other features on Tweetbeat.(c) Lead a five member team, defined estimates, priorities and successfully delivered to internal milestones.

Worked in the core backend team powering Kosmix's topic search engine (www.kosmix.com and www.righthealth.com). (a) Search Relevance and Quality: Applying Machine learning models in ranking and filtering results; creating various signals to improve relevance.(b) Scaling systems: Worked on Distributed query processing architecture, Load balancer, caching infrastructure and memory optimizations.(c) Handling structured and unstructured data; and numerous product features. (d) Awards: Six Kreed awards (for speedy delivery), One Just do-it award (for leadership) and one Kosmonaut award (for extraordinary performance).

Contributed to the project GPD (Global Product Definition) - a product used by Ford to configure their automobiles.
