Oversees the tax audit process and strives to minimize tax audit exposure. Ensures quality and timely audit responses are sent to government auditors and that audit findings are addressed and resolved. • Manages the end-to-end indirect tax audit process for all Shell entities in Canada• Collaborates extensively with the tax advisors, business focals and feeder processes to ensure that accurate and timely audit response packages are sent to government auditors• Reviews and approves all audit data and audit requests prior to submission to tax authorities• Reviews all proposed tax assessments and ensures that all courses of action have been sought prior to payment• Oversees the tax payment process for tax assessments and when possible, collaborates with the business to recover the taxes from customers

• Review of monthly, quarterly and annual excise duty tax returns• Initiation and leading of continuous improvement initiatives in the process• Provide expertise to stakeholders: Team subject matter expert• Coaching and supporting of tax analysts/specialists• Leading of MIT related projects across various locations and processes
