Project: Integrating Non-communicable Disease (NCD) Management in Primary Healthcare: A Population Health Survey and Action Initiative through the Commission of Higher Education- Phillippine California Advance Research Institutes (CHED-PCARI).Published one manuscript on academic collaboration.

Conducted survival analysis on data from a longitudinal cohort study of youths at risk of HIV living in urban Los Angeles and New Orleans. The manuscript has been published in the Journal of AIDS (JAIDS).

This project, funded by the NHLBI aims to build national capacity to lead translational research in cardiovascular disease (CVD) by creating and training a multi-sectoral, multi-disciplinary team; building partnerships with US universities (University of Washington, University of Wisconsin, Harvard University) and regional institutions (Public Health Foundation of India, Sun-Yat- Sen University). The overall goal of this training program is to build leaders in translational research in Cardio vascular disease through rigorous mentored training and scholarly experience. A total 16 trainee from diverse health background were selected after rigorous selection process for the project.Current Project: PEN Implementation Study (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier:NCT05880784)

In the role of research assistant I worked with the team at RTI International Seattle office in two projects- 1. preparing draft costing tool for Global HEARTS initiative, and 2. data analysis for Tuvalu Medical Treatment Scheme's expenses.

I worked with a team in quantifying external development assistance going to low and middle income countries for Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and injuries, by using various databases like OECD CRS, Foundation center and through personal correspondence with some foundations. I was also involved with the team in interviewing representatives from key donor agencies inquiring on where NCD stands in the development agenda of their organization. The report was submitted to WHO Global co-ordinating mechanism (GCM) on NCDs.

I supervised health and sanitation programs for 8 project offices in two districts in Nepal; Kailali and Bardiya District as the health section lead at one of the regional offices. The major health interventions/projects for which I was responsible was 1. Health education for communities2. Health system strengthening: Infrastructure and logistics support to health centers, trainings to community health volunteers3. School health project: specialty medical camps for school children, de-worming, hygiene education for primary school children, adolescent health education for teenagers4. Community based health insurance project5. Community led total sanitation movement in 4 village development committees to eliminate open defecation practice
