This project aims to prepare and characterize the adsorbents using physicochemical analysis methods (chemical analysis, pH, surface area), pore volume, adsorption factor (apparent density). Structural characterization through X-ray diffraction (XRD) and morphological analysis through scanning electron microscopy (SEM), hydrothermal stability testing of the adsorbents, measurements of the expansion factor, surface area, bulk density, pore volume, ion exchange capacity (CEC) and adsorption factor, hydrophobicity and wettability, will be studied for their rational applicability. Column adsorption tests will be carried out to test the efficiency of the adsorbents. Studies of equilibrium isotherms, process kinetics using finite bath volume and breakthrough curves in columns will also be carried out. The adsorbents will be regenerated and recovered at the end of the operation.
