As the Director of Training & Education, my responsibilities included training staff, volunteers and interns, setting the department’s strategic direction, and designing and facilitating innovative trainings and programs aimed at developing the capacity of organizations and communities around conservation, health, human rights, and social change. - Designed and implemented the East African Girls Leadership Summit (EAGLS) and Mentorship program with a cohort of organizations and schools throughout Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, Rwanda and Uganda. EAGLS strengthens girls’ leadership and womens’ mentorship abilities through a summit, training, coaching, and toolkits, designed to elevate girls and women as leaders. - Lead author and trainer of a Gender Responsive Pedagogy Teacher’s Handbook for the Forum of African Women Educationalists (FAWE), UNESCO and UNICEF to be used across Africa.- Designed and implemented the Creative Environmental Leadership Program that consists of training, coaching and ongoing-technical support for cohorts of environmental nonprofits throughout Africa and Central America. The training program includes four 3-day modules in Creative Leadership, Facilitation, Collaboration and Systems Change, with curriculum that is grounded in arts-based popular education methodology. This program has been implemented in Ghana, Cameroon, Belize, Guatemala, and Peru with 83 grassroots organizations.- Designed and implemented professional development leadership trainings, dynamic staff retreats, innovative conferences, and educational symposiums for nonprofits and universities throughout the US. Clients include CUAV, Foundation for Sustainable Development, Counterpart International, Thousand Currents, UC Berkeley Principal Leadership Institute, Duquesne University, PLAN International, SF Foundation, CauseLabs, Opportunity Collaboration, 350.org, World Trust, Mujeres Unidas y Activas, Melton Foundation and New England BioLabs
