Stefan is a creative, hardworking and dynamic Professional Registered (ECSA) Structural Technologist (equivalent to PR ENG in South Africa and Structural Engineering I) focusing on the design of building structures (concrete, steel and/or other materials) in the fields of Industrial, Commercial and Retail, Residential, as well as Project Management.Stefan has to date spent 14 years in the engineering and construction industries. He was employed by two of the larger firms of their time in South Africa, namely Grinaker-LTA (One of the largest construction firm in the late 2000 and early 2010) and AECOM SA (Currently one of the largest consulting engineering firms in South Africa). He kick-started his career at Grinaker-LTA (Steel Fabrication division) in 2008 while completing his NDip in Civil Engineering qualification, which he obtained the following year. He was employed with Grinaker-LTA for six-years, fulfilled several roles and obtained experience in structural design, drafting (structural detailing) and project management in the design office. Thereafter, he joined AECOM South Africa in 2013 as a Senior Technician and he worked his way up, within 5 years, to a Professional Registered (ECSA) Structural Technologist (Engineer I) position. During this time he acquired his BACCALAUREUS TECHNOLOGAE in Engineering - Civil (Structures) at the University of South Africa. This qualification has been reviewed by the International Education Evaluations (IEE) and is seen as the US equivalent of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He was employed with AECOM SA for seven years and during this period worked on great projects which moulded him into a full rounded engineer. Some of the roles and responsibilities were in structural design, drafting, tendering on projects, project and team management and site supervision. After his stint with AECOM SA, he decided to start up his consulting firm focusing on Structural Engineering and Architecture in late 2020.
