VP Procurement Systems from the time of the merger with USWest coordinated all the systems activities of the organization with IT, operational groups, finance, and external vendors. Developed a three-year plan to implement procurement transformation. Key interim deliverables allowed the company to realize substantial benefit even though back office project budgets were sharply reduced just over a year after the merger. Direct/indirect reports were as many as 45 with another 100 matrixed in through IT. Led two groups of professionals, the first focusing on the implementation of new systems initiatives and the second focusing on the daily maintenance and operations. The implementation group was responsible for process review, requirements definition, program management, integration and acceptance testing, status communications and change control management. We worked with the the President and the CFO to:1) Create a system/process to track all external contractors to the company2) Negotiate with the business units to allow for the exchange of contractor headcount for permanent3) Reduce company wide labor costs by managing total combined headcount

We provided complete solutions to our clients including training in our classrooms and phone support to our more than 500-member client base. We were among the top ten Solomon software implementers in the country, for one year their top reseller. We also produced custom developed solutions for our clients. Applied Business Systems was the largest area reseller and implementer of iMIS association management software. Finally, we were a Novell Gold reseller and Microsoft Solutions Provider implementing networking solutions as part of our overall implementation projects. I was involved with formal presentations and communications with people at all levels and backgrounds both internal and external. Constant evaluation of alternative solutions was part of both the implementation practice and the sales process. Accomplishments included:1) Determining the true state of the financials which had serious flaws in them2) Moving from SVP Operations to CEO to be able to manage necessary change3) Executing on a turn around based on the true financial state of the company4) Exited the hardware repair and inside sales portions of the business which were not profitable5) Restructuring professional fees so high value resources were charged appropriate higher rates6) Implementing time sheets to be able to track true profitability of the company and each resource7) Focus on software sales and increase revenue per employee by $53K8) Sold the company to Price Waterhouse Coopers

Served as the General Manager and head of the Night Owl division, responsible for all areas of operations, sales, systems, finance, and customer service. The division had revenues of approximately $4.7 million, a staff of 65, two offices and operated in four states. After becoming a part of Vector Security in January of 1993, we were part of a large regional security company with offices from New York to Washington, D.C. We monitored the alarms of nearly 9,000 customers in our division alone with many times that overall. We were the largest residential security company in the Washington, D.C. area.Prior to merging operations, as VP and head of systems I was responsible for all automation within the company. This included 24/7 operations with life safety priority involving communications, infrastructure, power, and inspections from Underwriters Laboratories. I was also responsible for the customer service and our alarm monitoring facility. Accomplishments included:1) Working with the President on preparing a strategic plan for the company2) Automating the central monitoring facility3) Working with the President to move to new offices & secure UL certification4) Putting an Ombudsman position in place for improving customer service5) Work with the President & owner to secure a private placement for acquiring other alarm companies6) Go through due diligence on each acquisition and integrate each one with the company7) Negotiate the sale in conjunction with the President to sell the company to Vector Security
