Efficiency and productivity was enhanced including streamlined business processes, benchmarking of services, and enhanced cooperation with resident missions. In December 2003, ADB became the 1st multilateral development bank (MDB) to be ISO 14001 certified. With this certification and improved management, the department was awarded the President's Award. A landmark study on training needs assessment was carried out leading to a highly efficient department with increase in productivity and client orientation. -

In Indonesia, a large community and local government sector development program was developed to deal with the after-effects of the financial crisis of 1997. -
Urban Development - Specialist/Senior Specialist/Principal SpecialistAsian Development Bank (Adb) Jan 1982 - Dec 1993During this period of about 12 years, worked as mission leader on water supply, urban transport, urban and regional development projects, including lending operations and non-lending activities, including strategic planning, programming, and technical assistance activities covering, among others, capacity building and policy development. The operational work related to several Asian countries including Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, and South Korea. Most of the loan projects processed included considerable policy dialogue, policy analysis, and institutional and financial development of the sector agencies. Several urban poverty studies were carried out, institutional strengthening activities undertaken, and land development controls and procedures refined. An integrated approach for urban infrastructure development was also initiated. Also administered a large portfolio of loan and technical assistance activities and carried out extensive reviews of on-going projects.
