As a member of the Dutch leadership team, I was able to design the Services department and further develop it into a managing body. In addition to Services, I was allowed to set up the Real Estate department as a task and subject-level unit within the organization. It was an educational time in which, in addition to a great deal of responsibility, I also had a lot of freedom to develop and shape my vision. The Sanquin Blood Bank Northeast region consisted of 8 main locations and a few sub-locations, each with its own service profile and maintenance organization. Partly in-house management and partly outsourced, as a Staff Member I have set up the service and maintenance organization on a project basis and as a Services Team Leader supervised the change process.Further:- E-W-B engineering main contract for Sanquin- Tendering and operationalization of contract- Set up facility manual- Team leader Services a.i.

At the end of the 1980s, Stork WorkSphere (now Spie Buildings) was a market leader (together with GTI Climate Contract now Engi for long-term maintenance contracts for building-related installations. The NVDO standard (now NEN2767) was set up during these years. These contracts require a more business-like way of thinking and management, which is why I, as a facility engineer, was allowed to learn in a technical environment about how to manage building-related installations and laws and regulations.Further:- Status inspections and multi-year budgets (NVDO and NEN2767)- Risk inventory and maintenance schedules- Operating instructions at installation level- Contract engineering- Work preparation and management service organization Groningen location- Set up NEN3140 management organizations for clients- Regulations concerning building-related technology (including access to NEN3140, 2654, SCIOS)

During my studies I enjoyed working at 'De Cateraars' in Groningen, first as a temporary worker and finally as a responsible Party Manager at various events. At that time, De Cateraars where setting the standard in Hospitality & Experience. A close group of people who all still speak and see each other.
