Seylan Merchant Bank (SMB) was the fully owned investment banking subsidiary of Seylan Bank PLC. Joined the bank at the time it was going through a restructuring process. I spearheaded the corporate leasing. Where I promoted the lease facilities to main dealers such as Toyota, Senok, Leyland to name a few. Later I was instrumental in setting up consumer leasing where the bank gave facilities to equipment such as computers, photocopiers, etc. I was also instrumental in re-activating bill discounting facilities and the introduction of “quick cash” loan scheme. Introduced new loan/lease products/facilities & developed cliental. Handled corporate clients; promoted the bank services & increased cliental. Trained in all aspects of merchant/ service banking. Structured & organized in-house training courses
