I am responsible for:- Planning rail-track maintenance and repairs as well as supervising new construction works on the railway track. - Attending to railway accidents (e.g. derailments), natural disasters (e.g. wash away) and general track inspection for the northern section of the Malawian railway network which extends from Chipoka to Mchinji Border (a 248 km stretch).-I work closely with the Chief Civil Engineer on Civil Engineering projects management which includes designing, planning, budgeting and estimation, supervision, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.

•Preparing bar bending schedules for box culverts.•Supervising the construction of box culvert.•Assistance in administrative works (correspondence).•Assistance in quality control of materials for road and culvert construction.•Assistance in survey works i.e. setting out points for box culverts construction•Checking prepared bar bending schedules for box culverts•Supervising drainage installations and cleaning works.•Supervising dumping gravel, milling and grading as well as asphalt overlays.•Assistance in quality control of materials for construction.•Assisting in road surface designs.•Assisting in project reconciliation•Preparing periodic Environmental Impact Assessment (E.I.A) reports.•Ensuring that the environment is reinstated (where possible) to its condition during demobilisation.
