Taking a break from my career — especially as a senior software engineer at Amazon on path to principal engineer — was a difficult decision, but I dove head first. This trip has been on my personal roadmap since 2018, and I am proud to move from planning to execution (i.e., enjoyment).My invaluable global experiences enrich my skills as a leader. Worked with a software architect to design and implement a solution to remove mixed content warnings from Yahoo emails. I implemented an HTTPS proxy to securely deliver HTTP content, such as images. The solution included an O(n) algorithm to parse the HTML in emails to replaced mixed content with the HTTPS proxy. I learned integration testing, performance monitoring, and remote debugging techniques.
