Monotype Typography (now Monotype Imaging) is the internationally renowned design and manufacturing company of many of the world’s most famous fonts. As Special Projects Manager I enhanced Monotype’s profile through the development of new font-related products, via their education service, and through newsletters and publicity materials.

The University of Reading's Department of Typography has been the pre-eminent centre of the study of information design since the 1970s. I was first year and second year course tutor; I developed lecture courses in historical, theoretical, and practical aspects of the subject; and I researched type design and manufacture after winning a research grant from the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers.
