To do so, I interviewed Ocean Spray executives, analyzed financial statements, and developed recommendations for future growth that were presented to the company at the end of the semester. Our first recommendation for the cranberry giant involved switching from wooden crates to plastic crates to store and freeze the cranberries. Doing so would reduce cleaning time, increase operating profit, and raise capacity. Our second recommendation was to outsource their power and energy to Thinklite, "a global lighting efficiency company that custom designs, manufactures, distributes, and installs energy efficient retrofit solutions to commercial customers."
