Provided PCB layout and mechanical support to complete the design. Implemented a high end microphone and circuitry to support a third parties acoustic processing board.Altium Librarian. Assist with the development of a company wide library for Altium Designer utilizing Microsoft Access and Subversion.Soldier Monitoring System (SMS). Visualize initial physical concept, provide quick turn machining, and determine a cost effective COTS GPS module that could readily interface to the mNet Transceiver.Fast Turn Camera Prototype. Produced a camera prototype from initial design to physical working unit to demonstrate to the customer in less than a week. Write embedded C-code, debug and repair new units, design digital support hardware, devise PLD chain programming scheme to enable code changes on the fly, and support multiple demonstrations to the customer.Test Fixture Development (Constellation, Waverider, UMM). Initiate fixturing to replace obsolete testing techniques, design and build fixtures for production, upgrade programming apparatus to increase speed by >10x, and develop test methods to drastically decrease test times.Multiplexer Board. Designed digital hardware and VHDL for reprogrammable multiplexer board for use in test fixtures.
• Optical Front Panel Display Tester. Designed turntable with dual vacuum fixtures, a single camera, and the software algorithms to test led displays for intensity, missing, and extra segments.• Remote Control Tester. Utilized a Toshiba X-Y gantry system to position a pneumatic actuator to activate the buttons on all manufactured remotes, receive and verify all custom codes and commands operated correctly.• Automatic Screwdriver. Designed a software controlled, stepper motor driven screwdriver for automatically adjusting mechanical potentiometers, coils, and capacitors for optimal settings.• Automatic Audio Distortion Analyzer/Adjuster. Assisted in the design and optimized the algorithms to automatically adjust audio detector (quad coil) circuits for minimum distortion.• General Fixture Design/Implementation. Key member in transitioning from mechanical to vacuum fixtures resulting in greater reliability and throughput. Designed digital and analog hardware. Emphasis always on quality, not quantity.
