Asep was formerly a member of the Indonesian Press Council. The roles of The Council include protecting and developing press freedom in Indonesia.Asep is also Head of the Political Science Magister Department at the Faculty of Social and Political Science, University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta.Before moving to the Council, Asep was the head of the Media Research Center at Media Group. He is responsible for qualitative and quantitative research, both internal and external use. The first project was Focus Group Discussion on One Year Jokowi Government on October 2015. Other projects were FGDs with partners from Forestry and Environmental Ministry, Attorney General's Office, and Quick Count during the local election in 2015. In addition, we did political surveys across Indonesia.He was Deputy Editor in Chief at Metro TV in Indonesia.He has a highly talented, creative, and skillful Radio Program Producer, Online News Producer, Newspaper editor, and News Television editor with over 20 years of experience in radio programs, newspaper editor, senior online news and feature editor, and a producer team lead.
