Design of building mechanical systems for projects in K-12, higher education, recreation centers, nature centers, municipalities, and commercial facilities with a focus on improved indoor environmental quality and enhanced energy efficiency. Projects include three net zero energy designs, three LEED platinum designs and one LEED gold design.Designs:- VAV systems with packaged rooftop units equipped with DX cooling and gas/electric heat- Air cooled and water cooled heat recovery VRF system with a DOAS unit.- Water sourced heat pump system with adiabatic fluid coolers and condensing boilers.- Air and water cooled chiller systems.- Hot water boiler plants.Involved in the design process from schematic design to construction documents. Design process:- Document all relevant existing information if renovating.- Compare HVAC system options based on project requirements, budget, and schedule. - Assist in developing an OPR and formulate a BOD.- Calculate building load using a load calculation software (Trace 700).- Revise design as needed to enhance performance with energy modeling.- Draft and produce construction documents using REVIT. - Perform clash detection to achieve satisfactory design level coordination. - Issue final bid documents, mechanical drawings and specifications.Design buildings as per Wight’s Sustainability Standard. Partake in the Sustainability Committee meetings. Incorporate and document LEED requirements. Perform construction administration responsibilities of reviewing shop drawings/submittal, site walk throughs, field reports, punch list walk throughs and report, and assist the construction with any coordination/design issues. A member of PLACES (Pursuing Leadership in Architecture, Construction, Engineering and Sustainability). Involved in the design of HVAC systems for commercial office buildings, warehouses, restaurants, single family homes, data centers, and industrial buildings. Designs:- Tradition DX packaged rooftop VAV unit with gas heat/electric heat. - Chilled water systems with AHUs for critical cooling applications. - Residential furnaces with splits systems (cooling coil, DX condensing unit)Involves in the design of plumbing systems for commercial offices, data centers and warehouses. Design included domestic HW & CW, sanitary, vent, and roof drainage systems. Design process:- Document all relevant existing information if renovating.- Compare HVAC system options based on project requirements, budget, and schedule. - Calculate building load using a load calculation software.- Draft and produce construction documents using REVIT. - Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure a fast and efficient workflow. - Issue final bid documents, mechanical and pluming drawings and specifications.- Perform COMcheck as required. Perform construction administration responsibilities of reviewing shop drawings/submittal, site walk throughs, field reports and punch lists.
