Pakistan Microfinance Investment Company Limited (PMIC) is a national-level apex institution for microfinance providers. Jointly formed by three state institutions, PPAF, DFID through Karandaz and KfW a German Development Bank.In my role, I spearheaded departmental operations, overseeing business development, investments, financial due diligence, deal finalization, and risk mitigation. This leadership facilitated substantial growth and financing, benefiting diverse institutions. My strategic oversight led to the attainment of an impressive PKR 30 billion portfolio within six years, demonstrating my exceptional financial acumen and adept asset management skills.I successfully expanded our client base to over 1 million clients, with 80% being women and 60% of the portfolio directed towards rural communities, significantly advancing financial inclusion. I actively contributed to various organizational committees, including Management, ALCO, Risk, ERP, and Health & Safety, showcasing my dedication to excellence and safety protocols. Additionally, I enhanced the governance of borrowing organizations through internal ratings and proudly represented PMIC on national and international platforms, bolstering the company's global reputation.

I lead the team focused on lending operations, expanding financial services, and improving institutional viability, risk management and portfolio quality.Here, I significantly expanded our lending operations, growing them from PKR 6 billion to PKR 15 billion, which marks a remarkable 150% growth. My efforts successfully extended financial services into underserved areas such as Balochistan and KPK, reaching previously neglected regions and communities. Implementing a robust risk management strategy, I diversified the borrower base and maintained exceptional portfolio quality, keeping non-performing loans consistently below 1%.Collaborating with multilateral and bilateral agencies, I executed programs worth USD 270 million, achieving high satisfaction ratings. I pioneered the introduction of over 25 innovative financial products and delivery mechanisms, including tailored value chain financing solutions and social safety nets for the ultra-poor, contributing significantly to poverty alleviation and livelihood enhancement.

ORIX Leasing Pakistan Limited (OLP), the corporate sector, a subsidiary of ORIX Corporation, Japan's leading integrated financial services company spread over 26 countries. OLP, one of the leading leasing companies in Pakistan, with main business activity of financing SMEs and leasing of moveable assets but is equally doing Microfinance. In this assignment, I successfully supervised the growth of the microfinance division, expanding it from 1 branch to 7 branches. This expansion allowed us to execute retail lending operations more effectively, broadening our client base and providing essential financial services to a larger community. Additionally, I established and managed credit lines for NGOs across Pakistan, supporting their financial needs and contributing to community development.I also pioneered the introduction of 'Micro Cards for Poor Clients,' a pilot product designed to serve the underprivileged segment of the population. This innovative financial tool improved financial inclusion and access to resources for the poor, demonstrating its effectiveness in enhancing their financial stability and opportunities.

SAFWCO is a NGO working in the development sector of Pakistan for socio-economic empowerment of vulnerable communities. It is working on social and economic development activities for poor segment in rural Sindh. As Program Head, Economic Development Sector SAFWCO, I was responsible for managing the provision of financial services to poor clients and their economic empowerment and enterprise development. I was leading a team of more than 75 professional staff members. Played a pivotal role in laying the foundation and expanding the institution's microfinance initiative from less than 1,000 clients to an impressive total of over 40,000 clients within a four-year period.

International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is one of 15 international research centers supported by the network of 60 governments, private foundations and international organizations collectively known as the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). It has offices in 12 countries across Asia and Africa.As the first professional job I was associated with the multinational organization “International Water Management Institute (IWMI)” and performed the duties as an active team member in Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad and Lahore offices. For most of the time at IWMI I performed in an action research project “Farmers Managed Irrigation System”; aimed for the institutional development in the irrigation sector of Pakistan; later on; turned as ‘Sindh Irrigation & Drainage Authority’ (SIDA) and PIDA in Punjab.
