My current role is that of a Preventative Maintenance Engineer. In this role I enact all service contract responsibilities and repairs in the field. In this role I have service experience in all manner of CAT Mobile plant and engines, this experience includes and is not limited to filter changes, repairs, oil changes including hydraulic, transmission, final drives, swing drive and many more. During my time in this role I have discovered that I have an affinity to working on mobile plant and I have a very methodical and efficient way in doing so. This is very customer satisfaction orientated as customer expectations are a priority and the work being carried out should be treated in line to this as all customers have different expectations and time constraints can be a large factor.

During my time in the British Army I was trained and progressed as an in field Telecommunications Engineer. In this role I was trained in maintaining, repairing and operating various communication systems including satellite communication systems, UHF, VHF and many more. When my career progressed I was then placed into an armored role where I then worked along side other technically minded individuals from my unit to conduct regular fleet maintenance and repair and helped to head a large scale fleet maintenance exercise where a carefully selected team was implemented to bring the readiness of the Regiments fleet from 32% to a minimum of 70% or above, which was no easy task as the fleet consisted of around 40 active service armored vehicles and various light vehicles such as MAN trucks and also Land Rovers. Against all odds we completed our objectives and surpassed expectations with a 52% active readiness increase to 84%. This experience allowed me to excel in my engineering abilities and I was then appointed as a point of contact to conduct maintenance and repairs in the regiment for the foreseeable future.
