As the IT Operations Manager for Carpmaels & Ransford, my main priority is to provide an effective and efficient IT service. I am responsible for driving all IT operational improvements as well as managing a team of 10 IT personnel in a very demanding and fast-paced environment. Other duties include: • Actively involved in all IT strategy related decision making for the firm• Manage, implement or delegate all IT related projects that are fit for business purpose• Identifying any end user training requirements and delegate to IT training team to roll out• Communicating IT changes to the business• Management of service desk and escalation point for 2nd line support• Review and analyse service desk statistics, utilise analytical data to proactively identify user’s training requirements and problematic trends • Hold and manage monthly staff target meetings and yearly appraisals to identify IT personnel training needs and requirements• Interview and select potential new IT staff personnel• Attend monthly progress and target meetings held with IT Business Partners• Draft, review, update and amend IT policies and procedures • Directly liaise with and manage 3rd party suppliers for procurement of all IT related equipment and services• Identifying and reporting IT project related risks to business. Develop and implement strategies to avoid/mitigate risks• Plan and schedule and manage maintenance windows in order to carry out essential system updates• Point of contact/escalation for IT related crisis management in all instances

• Configuration, maintenance and support of Windows 2003 and 2008R2 servers (including Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS).• Management and support of Exchange 2010 server, Mimecast email archiving and Blackberry enterprise server 5.• Management and support of Firewall and Proxy servers (ISA server 2006 and TMG 2010).• Configuration, maintenance and support of virtual environment consisting of over 50 VMs and 2 SANs (VMware vSphere 4.1, Hyper-V, HP Lefthand P4000 and HP 3par 7200).• Management and support of WSUS server and Anti-Virus systems including Trend, AVG and FEP.• Research, select and purchase new IT equipment.• HP ProLiant Server builds and firmware update.• Server Backups and restores using Asigra Enterprise Backup.• Daily (including weekends) server health checks.
