In my role at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), I coordinate with regional teams to manage and streamline information requests and actions from headquarters and external partners, ensuring effective communication on cybersecurity vulnerabilities and critical infrastructure trends. I routinely analyze data, synthesize insights, and provide strategic recommendations to support critical infrastructure protection programs, cybersecurity vulnerability management, incident response, and information-sharing initiatives. Additionally, I advise the Regional Operations Manager and Regional Operations Chief on emerging trends, enabling informed decision-making and maintaining situational awareness across leadership.

My day to day duties involved reviewing and updating online databases with appropriate information and decisions for applicants, researching and utilizing immigration laws and USCIS regulations, operating instructions, policies, legislative history, precedent decisions, state and local laws, and international treaties to help USCIS correct adjudication of immigration benefits. I am skilled at researching and finding needed information using a variety of methods including document review, government systems checks, or in-person interviews. I am able to provide direct assistance to external personnel/officials/stakeholders of other Federal agencies in identifying individuals who pose a threat to national/public security. I conduct security checks in accordance with all applicable DHS/USCIS regulations and policies and protect sensitive information as needed and regulated by federal law. I provide applicant/petitioner/beneficiary support including liaison with internal and external stakeholders and attorneys, to reach a solution to any problem or inquiry that comes my way!

Greater Los Angeles Area

My daily responsibilities at the Los Angeles Field Office involve staffing the front check in windows, using government systems to run security checks, and tracking and delivering immigration files. When I am not staffing a duty station, I help run an initial intake and tracking of supplemental documents that need to be interfiled within their corresponding files and make reports on the number of future interviews our office will have. I also work alongside higher ranking Immigration Analysts and Immigration Officers to solve more complex questions and projects.

Los Angeles Metropolitan Area

As an office clerk for the Los Angeles Asylum Office, I was tasked with the ordering and preparation of immigrant files for international applicants. In addition to the physical tracking and ordering of files, I helped complete a preliminary review of cases by running security checks. I also gained computer and Microsoft Excel experience using government programs and software to conduct security checks and track the immigration files. My duties also included searching for missing files and supporting documents, and interfiling any loose papers into their corresponding file to help maintain an organized office and organization. I was always expected to prepare, maintain and submit statistical immigration data and asylum application information to my supervisors if needed, usually through the use of Excel.

I served as a District Office intern for Congresswoman Nanette Barragán, who currently represents California's 44th congressional district. My time as a district office intern included operating the daily intake of phone calls, providing support and customer service to the constituents of the 44th district. I logged voicemails, emails and traditional letter correspondences on a web platform used by U.S. Congressional members. I also helped with the creation of Congressional Recognition awards and certificates. Occasionally on the weekends, I helped with the setting up of field events and staffing tables.
