Ashish Somashekar participated in the X-Culture Project in the 2022-2 round (August - December).X-Culture is a large-scale international experiential learning and business consulting project that involves over 6,189 MBA and business students from over 140 universities in 43 countries on six continents every semester. Over 90,000 students have participated in the project since its inception in 2010.The students were placed in global virtual teams, each team member in a different country. Working with peers from around the globe, dealing with cultural differences, time-zone dispersion, and global communication challenges, the teams completed a consulting business project for a real multinational company.The task was to develop a market expansion strategy, including the analysis of the competitive position of the client company, its strengths and weaknesses, threats and opportunities; identifying the most promising markets and conducting an in-depth analysis of their economic, cultural, and political environments; developing market entry, pricing, promotion, marketing, and HR strategies; as well as developing recommendations concerning the logistics and product adaptations for the new markets.

1) Completed 4 projects on evaluating how best to use the 3M grant by assessing the business, competitive, legal, regulatory social, and political environment for opening an Engagement “Drop-in” Center in Bridgeport.2) Identified prospective non-profits and reached out to them on behalf of my clients to market our servicesand educate them about new and upcoming drug recovery services3) Presented a marketing strategy to reduce overhead costs and thereby increase the visibility of the Center.4) Presented to and persuaded the CEO and Board of Directors of our strategic plan to open the “Engagement Center” at a prospective location.

Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

1) Assisted in calibration of instruments in all healthcare departments. 2) Recording/collecting data from said instruments and tabulating it in the database. This data was used for checking the efficiency of the medical devices and reporting back if not, for replacement.
