About Asha Berbeck
Hello! I’m Asha Berbeck, a passionate and adaptable individual who is always eager to learn and tackle new challenges.I hold a Bachelor of Science Honours in Psychology, with a concentration in Health Psychology and Well-Being and a minor in American Sign Language from Carleton University. As a Toronto native, I am deeply committed to promoting health and wellness, empowering youth, and supporting marginalized communities.Throughout my academic journey, I have actively contributed to various causes. I’ve volunteered at food banks, nursing homes, and youth-focused organizations, while also taking on leadership roles from an early age.In my first year at Carleton, I was recognized as a Positive Contributor by Housing and Residence Life Services for my event planning efforts on my residence floor. By my second year, I became a Residence Fellow and participated in the EDI Student-Staff Committee, co-creating and co-hosting events such as BIPOC Residence Life Staff Connections and Black at CU, a space for Black-identifying students to share their on-campus experiences.As a third-year student, I worked as a Community Developer for Housing and Residence Services. I led initiatives for residence students, co-chaired the Mental Health Champions group, and chaired the Student Engagement Committee. I also continued my involvement in the EDI Student-Staff Committee, helping facilitate BIPOC Connections.In my final year, I served as a Health Promotion Leader with Carleton Wellness, and I was a student representative on both the Senate Honorary Degree Committee and the New Names for New Times Initiative. I also held several roles with the City of Ottawa, including as a camp coordinator. In February 2023, I had the privilege of being featured by Carleton University and interviewed by CBC Ottawa for my initiatives supporting African, Caribbean, and Black students.In August 2024, I earned a graduate certificate in Project Management from Sheridan College. During this time, I collaborated with Strides Toronto to develop a personalized collaboration and relationship management tool, interned at SickKids Foundation, and received recognition for academic excellence.I am currently seeking opportunities with NGOs in fundraising and companies regarding corporate community development, community engagement, and partnerships.
