Google's Global Networking team is responsible for the design, development, build and operations of Google's massive global network. My team is part of GGN working within the network demand functional areas. Our primary focus lies in crafting a range of network products aimed at scaling the network infrastructure by modeling, visualizing, and analyzing capacity with demand. These products are pivotal in empowering Google to construct and oversee its infrastructure across various product domains such as YouTube, Ads, Core research, ML, Cloud, and other Google app services.

With over 230+ million subscribers and more than 10 million daily container launches, Netflix operates at an extraordinary scale, where the reliability, availability, and performance of our streaming platform is absolute expectation. My role is to own AWS networking infrastructure and direct the Cloud Network (CN), Host Networking (HN) engineering teams establishing a clear vision and strategic direction, defining priorities, and evolving strategic roadmaps to align with the organization's overarching objectives.Championed the growth of the Cloud Network Engineering team, achieving a 100% increase in team size in one year. Closed critical technical skill gaps, single point of failure, streamlined recruitment processes, and developed precise interview rubrics, resulting in a 40% reduction in time-to-hire.Own Network as a Service abstraction layer for AWS network primitives like VPCs, Transit Gateways, L4/L7 load balancers, NAT Gateways, Security Groups and TLS. Created SLIs & SLOs to durably scale the network architecture.Re-engineered container networking for Netflix's Titus compute (Kubernetes-like), scaling up the IP manager service to handle a 5X increase in requests per second (RPS) capacity and reducing average P99 container launch latency by 10X. These improvements directly contributed to meeting compute runtime SLIs and SLOs for Big Data Compute platforms such as Spark and Flink. Engineered an observability service: Flowcollector system capable of processing 280+ billions of flow logs every day using Linux and eBPF for low-level metric collection. Realized annual savings of $5 million by orchestrating projects in cloud efficiency efforts including simplified network architecture and migration of our largest microservices to IPv6. IPv6 also set the path for Netflix to avoid AWS additional charges for Public IPV4 usage. Innovated a IPv6 to IPv4 transition mechanism in the kernel to eliminate the need for NAT-GWs saving 3M+ annualized cost.

Manage a team of 20+ engineers (backend and device) overseeing control and dataplane functions in software-defined networking (SDN). Responsibilities span across developing solutions like network security, TLS, application based policy control, personal WAN and improve dataplane performance (PPS) on host. Strategically guided the successful launch of cutting-edge SaaS solutions, implementing robust APIs for a wide range of use cases like user identity flows, push device metrics using MQTT to a RabbitMQ broker, and then analyze this data for network health, device health insights and analytics use cases. Designed and optimized a scalable database schema utilizing PostgreSQL to efficiently handle data from over 7M+ active devices distributed across 3.5 million Meraki networks. Product contributes to 1B$/year revenue.Closely collaborate with Product Managers from both Cisco Meraki and Catalyst organizations to comprehend customer requirements. Prioritize, streamline and coordinate efforts across both orgs to deliver a unified solution.Identify skill gaps, hire, coach, conduct regular 1:1’s provide clear actionable feedback and set a career path matching passion and skill sets of engineers.Drive execution, collaborate with product managers on use cases, customer requests, assemble the right people, brainstorm, conduct feasibility analysis, converge on project plan. Our features span across Wi-Fi security (EAP-TLS, iPSK), FIPS 140-2 certifications, ACLs(Access Control list), NBAR(Network based application recognition), streaming metrics using MQTT protocol, Wireless Private Network and connectivity solutions.

Lead software development for Cisco's service assurance sensor product that adds wireless assurance functionality into Cisco's DNA-C (Digital Network Architecture - Center). Sensor provide network administrators the ability to monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues in real-time. The wireless network sensor is a Wi-Fi 802.11ac Wave2 client with 2 spatial streams, EAP-TLS, PEAP, PSK, EAP-FAST authentication and multi powering options like 802.3af POE, AC and DC power.Lead design and development of Mesh network for next generation Wi-Fi access points.

Multiple project development - Rogue AP detection & mitigation, Wireless Intrusion detection and Prevention(WIPS & WIDS)–Identify rogue AP, WIPS/WIDS attack in the network and report them to the centralized controller. Take action to mitigate the damage caused by such rogue. Develop Flexible modular radio that performs as a monitor or sniffer radio used to capture the Wi-Fi packets. Monitor radio will scan through all the RF channels and collect noise, interference and load statistics, also go off-channel to detect network anomalies.

Develop Cable modem middleware used to detect, configure, monitor and troubleshoot problems with cable modem software.
