I consider myself a highly motivated target driven, enthusiastic and dedicated manager with excellent communication skills with all levels within the employment structure.I am currently the Store managers of the Chesterfield Highstreet branch of WH Smith, this includes Managing the Post office based within the store and a separate unit on the high street called Card Market. I have been the store manager of this branch since June 2019. The store had a well-established team when I joined so it was really good to engage with and share my vision for what we could achieve over the coming months. As a team we focused on getting back to basics and delivering excellent store standards to make the shopping environment inviting for customers and to drive footfall and sales. We had some great successes over Christmas and took away some good learnings for this year.The Post Office was a massive learning curve for me. I recruited a new Post Office Operations Manager and replaced some counter clerks and together we rebuilt our post office into well running department that continues to deliver some great results for the business including some extremely good Customer feedback.Whilst I was managing my previous store Crystal peaks in Sheffield one of my sales assistants really stood out as a future leader. I decided to work shoulder to shoulder with Greg, upon my appointment to Chesterfield I promoted him to Supervisor when the position became available and he has continued to go from strength to strength.As well as my stores in Chesterfield I have been asked by my Regional business manager to temporarily manage the Beeston Highstreet store and Post Office which I visit on a weekly basis to set and review all of the objectives for the week ahead. I also take this time to complete a full store walk including all back of house areas to make sure we are well set up to achieve our sales and shrink budgets for the week ahead. I keep my staff highly motivated leading by example and with support and encouragement help them achieve their individual goals and targets ensuring they are striving to progress in their retail careers within the business
