Ashley Burke, Bacs, Mes Email and Phone Number
A security professional who truly believes that community members and technology can work together to solve some of the world's biggest problems. I have utilized my skills in managing security projects, such as assessments, PCI audits, data privacy and business continuity projects. I have helped create from the ground up security policy/procedure, supplier risk management processes, as well as security awareness training. Through this I have been an active member of the team, attending team building events and creating a fun, inspiring work environment. Bringing my 5 plus years in adult education into the security world has shown the value of a diverse skill set in the tech industry. My transferable skills has allowed me to build relationships through departments and with outside stakeholders and assessors. I also define myself as an advocate for diversity in security. I have been offering mentorship to people interested in transitioning to cyber security, have publicly spoke on my career story and been involved in public speaking events. In doing this, the aim is to help attract those who may not have a formal technical background in cyber security, similar to myself. One of my favourite quotes is: "Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible' " - Audrey Hepburn
