About Chris Ashby

Founder of Telescope, I help visionary founders change the world through proven design leadership and senior-level design services.I've been a designer, team leader, and design and startup mentor for the last 15 years, having worked with 50+ businesses at every stage from pre-seed to large corporates. I'm a writer for multiple publications in the UX and product space from UX Collective, to Prototypr and our own Medium publication for Telescope.Along the way I spent time mastering the art of storytelling, as well as exploring psychology and philosophy in-depth to understand the nuances of designing human experiences that elevate the best qualities of our humanity. After leaving an in-house design leadership position I launched my own design subscription business in 2021 called We Are Heroes, focused on providing flexible, senior-level design support to early-stage startups and small creative agencies through user research and strategy. This disrupted the market of design subscriptions by leaning heavily on in-person workshops and reviews rather than being more asynchronous like almost every other design subscription.Following the success of We Are Heroes, I rebranded to Telescope in 2024 as a way of helping more startups through our design leadership subscription, alongside mentoring and community for the next generation of design founders. Thanks for checking out my profile, and if you want to learn more you can visit us at Telescope.Design
