AAU teams usually cost around $400 - $10000 majority of the kids that I coached lived in housing complexes and are on section 8 and have food stamps getting $5 from there parents was already tough getting $400 or more was impossible. So thats where I stepped in I fundraised and found sponsors which allowed me to pay for everyone of the kids fees but also for new jersey's, equipment and travel expenses I drove the kids to every game in a huge bus. Instead of paying me back with money they had to maintain a 2.5 GPA and do a certain amount of community services hours a month to be eligible to play. This program was a blessing for a lot of kids in the community not only where there skills improving and grades where getting better they where also able to travel and experience the world outside there tiny housing complex.
