The Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI) is a registered, not-for-profit organization that focuses on diversity and inclusion, human rights, and equity in Canada's workplaces. Since joining the team in 2022, I have led the strategic redesign and implementation of See Different, our free Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) training and certification program and national network for youth in Canada aged 15-26. Responsibilities include strategic planning, business and partnership development, grant writing, budget oversight, supervision of junior staff, instructional design, facilitation, event planning, and supporting social media and marketing initiatives. As part of the learning and knowledge solutions team, I also research, design, and implement CCDI webinars and events, reports, toolkits, and learning pathways for our 750+ Employer Partners.

As the Education Abroad Advisor (EAA), I supported the international partnerships of StFX and facilitated the participation of students in education abroad activities. During my time in this role, I:- Worked with our team to successfully overhaul university risk management policies and procedures related to international travel- Developed pre-departure and re-entry training programs for Canadian students going abroad- Designed and implemented a new international credit transfer procedure for StFX's 30+ international exchange partnerships- Designed marketing materials and promotional campaigns for the international exchange program and overhauled the exchange website- Collaborated with a small team to organize the 2021 - CBIE (Canadian Bureau of International Education) Annual Regional Atlantic Meeting, and was an active member of the AIM (Atlantic International Mobility) Group- Maintained close relationships with staff and faculty on campus in an effort to build awareness of the university's Internationalization efforts and the transformative nature of education abroad activities

As a CIR, I worked alongside the local board of education to develop and implement projects intended to promote multiculturalism. These projects included international exchange programs, primary and secondary school visits, English language classes, cooking classes, and intercultural communication workshops. In this role, I was also responsible for writing and translating the weekly newsletter and providing interpretation for international events happening in the community (Japanese, English and French).

Designed and implemented information sessions and recruitment events for the student exchange program. Coordinated with the study abroad team to arrange student visa and scholarship applications, organize travel logistics, and monitor and report on student progress during the exchange period. Organized transportation and accommodations for visiting professors and acted as a guide during their stay in Canada. Maintained our student informational database (Banner) and provided a wide range of administrative support.
