Profile bio

About Asher Kaufman

Several years ago I presented a Kickstarter project for wireless powered EV racing. I was too early. Now is the time. Please see the pitch below in Featured.A recent software project was controlling an automated testing device for avionics which included data acquisition from various sensors, control of heaters, blowers, LEDs and displays and automatically generated reports in Excel format.I am especially adept at optimizing code and exploiting platform capabilities.I have programmed in C, C++ and C# on PCs as well as Assembly (Motorola and Intel) for embedded processors on TV set-top devices, videogame consoles, communications device drivers, video and audio compression/decompression, User Interfaces, an Electronic Program Guide for interactive TV, game editors, animation and navigation tools, MPEG players, etc. on various products ranging from online services (using TV-settop devices as well as computers) to touchscreen-controlled PC games. I reverse engineered ROM-based assembly code and schematics at an avionics company. Among the tasks were to determine sensor interfacing, how configuration and calibration were managed, and how the ROM modules were encrypted. In that case, I found the ROMs were simply byte-order configured for Intel systems but were being processed by a Motorola microcontroller. A hardwired logic array was swapping the addressed byte order.Among my programming projects was a tool to edit configuration files for various video slot, keno and poker systems. My previous position was programming embedded firmware in C for touch-screen based video slot machines. My prior position with this company was programming Windows-based multimedia clients for playing Poker online, some of which used the .NET framework. It included writing installation scripts.I created a Windows-based batch processing tool for encoding and transcoding video and audio files from MPEG to AOL's NSV streaming format.I programmed an embedded processor in a wireless audio device with USB interface in Assembly language. Some of this code was for I2C inter-chip communication protocol.

Listed skills include Programming, C++, Software Development, Strategic Planning, and 21 others.
