I am a careered small scale farmer currently working in the non-profit agricultural sector. For the past seven years I have worked on various farms in New England and the Hudson Valley gaining skills in vegetable production, livestock management, fruit production, field crew management, and farm to table operations. My breadth of experience in local farming spans the for profit, start up, community co-operative, and non-profit sectors. I am valued for my strong interpersonal skills, hands-on leadership in the field, and reliability in performing high level farming operations consistently. In addition to my skill set on the farm, I have a strong foundation in crop planning, business management, back of the house oversight, and applicable technologies in the agricultural context. The core of my professional identity is based in community food system leadership with a passion for teaching and learning about healthy food in small teams. My specialty as a grower is in small-scale (1-10 acre) organic farming with a focus on no-till vegetable production in the community setting. I am a flexible leader with the ability to practice multiple styles of agriculture within the organic movement such as low-till, no-till, permaculture, regenerative, market gardening, agroforestry, integrated pest management, and humane livestock production.
