I worked for Roy Haggerty in the Hydrogeology lab at Oregon State University. The research entailed reinstalling piezometers in the HJ Andrews experimental forest, collecting sediments samples of the HJ Andrews Forest, and to find out the amount of the organic content in sediment samples. The Piezometer re-installation is installing 5 feet long stainless steel piezometers in place of the PVC piezometers with the use of a jack and sludge hammers.

During the summer of 2013 I worked for Roy Haggerty in the hydrology lab at OSU. The research entailed finding surface transient storages in rivers and find the residence time. The residence time is found via salt tracer with the use of salt sensors and salt emitters. After the data is collected the residence time is found by using an excel formula we created. This position involved lots of hiking and being outdoors. Setting up equipment and completing the tests and ensuring that after they are complete that the river and wildlife is maintained and unharmed.
