During my tenure in the MA program for German studies at Cal State Long Beach, I taught beginning and intermediate German for three semesters. I also tutored officially at the Learning Assistance Center on campus and privately for multiple individuals throughout that time. Immediately after graduating from the MA program, I began the single-subject credential program (SSCP) at Long Beach with the goal of becoming a high school German teacher. As a result of the SSCP, I received over 600 hours of in-class experience, including observations of experienced teachers and student teaching, before beginning my first year as a fully credentialed teacher. Additionally, I was a substitute teacher for the Garden Grove Unified and Whittier Union High School Districts until the end of the 2018-19 school year. I also worked at the annual Big Bear German Camp for three years as a volunteer and two as a teacher of record, working with many students and fellow German teachers, while organizing and instructing a self-defense activity and a short Sunday church service in German. I have also attended many professional development workshops, including those by COACH Foreign Language Project, AATG-SoCal, Jason Fritze, and Tina Hargaden. I have been the sole German teacher of Adolfo Camarillo High School since 2019 and I am a German instructor for the A2 niveau at the German American School Association.
