Early in my career I helped build the first commercial high-performance internet routers at Wellfleet and I invented the broadband SMS / access router category to start Redback. At Tollbridge I learned that great products need motivated, great customers. I also learned you should keep going until you can't.For the record: I was a founding engineer at Wellfleet Communications, a founder and CTO at Redback Networks, Tollbridge Technologies and Peakstream. I’ve raised venture capital from amazing backers including Accel Partners, Kleiner Perkins, Matrix Partners, MDV and Sequoia Capital. I’m active on for-profit and not-for-profit boards. I collect art and design and built an interesting house in Palo Alto. In my spare time I’m a cyclist, skier and instrument-rated, multi-engine commercial pilot dreaming about turboprops.
