Rejoined the company in 1998 after completing the overseas contract; but our partnership ended when they closed their Illinois office in 2001.• Worked on the project to reengineer the Insurance applications from COBOL to JAVA.• Completed the Y2K conversion with zero interruptions.• Before migrating to the Client Server programming, worked on developing, implementing and supporting the batch and On-line insurance applications using COBOL and CICS. • Proposed and implemented the changes to have common edit routines for Batch and On-line programs; this eliminated several duplicate modules and resulted in reducing the program maintenance efforts.• Analyzed and modified few batch jobs that needed changes on seasonal basis. By having them table driven, the company saved several hours of manual work each year.

Many attendees of the classes were promoted or went on to be key leaders on their teams.• Saved more than 1,000 man-hours for the PHR system, which was targeted for a rewrite from an old software to COBOL for matching the new requirements. Original estimated hours were 1800; but managed to link the new COBOL code to the existing application and completed the project in less than 700 man-hours. • Assumed the lead over a very unstable and behind schedule NOC System during the development stage; and using the RAD/JAD methodology, fixed the issues, completed the project and deployed it in production within a year. • Continued to work on the Design & Construction project even after the government contract had expired; at management’s request, my contract was extended by 5 lunar months.
