Born in Hawaii in the Manoa Valley, but raised in Berkshire in the Thames Valley, I graduated from Bournemouth University with a BSc in Business. After completing a dissertation that studied the characteristics of effective business communicators, I naturally gravitated towards a role at INVOLVE in 2005 having flirted with sales and marketing roles in media (Granada Media / ITV) and then IT.Most of my time is spent developing employee engagement ideas and campaigns for some of world’s leading businesses and brands.Passionate about developing creative ways of giving employees a voice and getting them involved and bought in to change, predominantly focusing on vision, values, behaviours and brand.Having traced my heritage, I discovered that I have Native American Indian background and am linked to the Wyandotte tribe from Oklahoma. I'm subsequently in the process of changing my name to Tatanku Aka Oolu, which means ‘Dances with Deadlines’ – kidding!Frustratingly handy at and enjoy most sports, but not excellent at any of them, otherwise I'd probably have been a professional rugby player, golfer, snowboarder, frisbee golfer…!!
