Developed, maintained, and utilized the technical tools needed to simulate policy scenarios and financially evaluate policy options for Syria post-conflict to inform the political process and to feed into the work produced by NAFS.Identified and proposed the relevant economic policy options for post-agreement reconstruction and economic recovery.Substantively contributed to NAFS work, tools and outputs.Represented NAFS in third party and partner meetings to advocate for NAFS messages.Contributed to NAFS's flagship publications. As such, I wrote the economic chapters in the "Strategic Policy Alternatives Framework" report and contributed to the "Syria at War: Five Years on" report and co-authored the "Syria at War: Seven Years On" report.

Lead a team of macroeconomists and coordinating their work in building the medium-term macroeconomic and macrofiscal frameworks for pre-conflict, conflict and post-conflict Syria.Reviewed and validated the inputs of the economic groups under the "Economic pillar" of the NAFS programme.Produced situation analysis for the Syrian economy between 2000-2016 including estimating the total capital destruction and GDP loss for Syria due to the ongoing conflict since early 2011.Produced the base-line scenario for the Syrian economy if the crisis had not happenedProduced the macroeconomic framework for post-conflict Syrian economy and estimating the financing requirements and financing gap for post conflict reconstruction.Provided considerable inputs for NAFS publications and reports.

Resident Technical Assistance Adviser in Public Finance Management: developed a proposal for a fiscal policy unit, conducted capacity building in macro-fiscal analysis and financial programming, assisted in the implementation of the IMF technical assistance recommendations for introducing the treasury functions to MoF, and established a coordination platform among the development partners and the government of Yemen.
