During my internship, I focused on an impactful research project that utilized deep learning techniques and Support Vector Machines (SVM) to enhance sign language recognition. This experience allowed me to apply my knowledge of machine learning and data analysis in a real-world setting, contributing to innovative solutions for communication barriers faced by the deaf and hard of hearing community.Key Activities and Achievements :- Conducted extensive research on methodologies for sign language recognition, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement using deep learning and SVM.- Collected and preprocessed a comprehensive dataset of sign language gestures, ensuring high-quality data for training deep learning models and SVM.- Implemented advanced algorithms, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and SVM, to accurately recognize and classify various sign language gestures.- Utilized data augmentation techniques to enhance the diversity and robustness of the training dataset, leading to improved model performance.- Collaborated with another students, refining the research approach and achieving optimal results.- Expanded my network by connecting with peers from various countries, fostering valuable international relationships.This internship honed my technical skills in deep learning, SVM, and data analysis, while strengthening my ability to work collaboratively in a research-driven environment. I am excited to continue exploring the intersection of technology and accessibility, leveraging my expertise to create innovative solutions that make a difference.
