About Ashir Intisher

I am a graduate civil engineer passionate about construction, infrastructure design, and project management. I completed my Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons) degree from Monash University in July 2021. I am determined to make a difference in the community by pushing my boundaries, pursuing challenges, and embracing innovation and sustainability. I am currently working as a graduate engineer at McConnell Dowell based in Brisbane.Previously, I had the opportunity to work as a junior site engineer and estimator at Crypt Civil Constructions in the management and delivery of civil works for the State Basketball Centre Redevelopment Project at Wantirna South in Victoria. I also have prior experience working as a construction engineering placement intern at Fulton Hogan as part of the M80 Ring Road Upgrade Project in Victoria. In 2019, I had the opportunity to compete in the Solar Decathlon Design Challenge organised by the US Department of Energy as part of the Monash Solar Decathlon Team, which focused on sustainable building science and net-zero energy home design. In my former construction engineering and management role at Fulton Hogan, I exercised a calculated and methodical approach to problem-solving. During my industry placement at Fulton Hogan, I had to forecast plant, materials, and equipment for 5 site locations for the $1b M80 Ring Rd Upgrade Project for the section from Princess FWY at Laverton North to Western HWY in Sunshine North. I then had to prepare a list of quotes from potential suppliers to undertake temporary works on-site and assist in the tendering process. As part of my internship at AUPEC, I had to develop a detailed construction management plan for a residential project at Hume City council from the demolition phase to the final structural design and construction of the project through conducting feasibility analysis and referring to structural design codes and specifications. My key skills include:● Developing Project Documentation ● Monitoring Quality Assurance of construction site activities by managing compliance of works with project specifications● Developing estimates through quantity take-offs using Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel● Reading and reviewing construction drawings● Construction procurement, planning, and coordinating tenders● Cost and environmental controls● Defects and change orders management due to scope variations
