I created my own business, and advertised for it by mailing out flyers and posting on multiple media sites to gain a network of families that would use my babysitting service. We are currently extremely popular and very well known in Sudbury, and have no issues acquiring jobs when returning home from college. I was responsible for leading a class of 19 first-year students in exploring the different aspects of and opportunities within Isenberg and UMass as a whole. Throughout the semester, I led various workshops and team projects/discussions, discussed the impacts of corporate social responsibility, elaborated on the resources and career services available, and much more. With this experience, I was able to further hone my public speaking and communication skills, as well as learned to handle different types of situations with various students.

As an operations processing analyst, I was given the incredible opportunity to handle and depict real trades and transactions between major companies. I was actively trained in multiple queues, including international, domestic, federal and to-be-announced trades. Every day i was tasked with processing millions of dollars worth of trades in each queue, requiring intense efficiency and accuracy with every action. My success in this department also led me to be selected to improve the efficiency of the system responsible for error-reporting throughout the office.

After being selected to become a teaching assistant for this exclusive first-year seminar, I had the opportunity to coordinate closely with Isenberg professors and advisors to create a curriculum for the incoming freshmen. My goal was to promote a safe, educational and efficient course that would excel the students in their transition to college. I developed the course website at the start of the year and periodically updated it to reflect new activities, grades and announcements. I led classes in active discussions and teamwork activities so they could learn about both themselves and their own skills, as well as how to work properly with others. Through this experience, I was able to gain verbal and communication skills, enhancing my public speaking and giving me the opportunity to guide and counsel younger students in their transition to Isenberg.

I have been the lead Torah reader for my temple since since the age of thirteen, studying and memorizing portions of the Torah 15-18 times per year. I also chant Torah during the high holidays in front of 500+ people. Spending three months in Israel, I was able to fully immerse myself in the culture and learn what living like an Israeli really entailed. I interned in the operating room at Emerson Hospital the summer before senior year of high school. I had the opportunity to observe inside the operating room and watch a variety of surgeries. I would start early in the morning and watch between three and four surgeries a day, beginning to end. I connected with the surgeons and anesthesiologists who went over step by step each part of the procedure they were performing and why. Many times I was called closer to the table to have a better look at the stomach or wrist or tumor being treated. After the surgery, I then walked with the patient over to the recovery room and stayed until they awoke from the anesthesia before going into the next operating room.
