QDVC is the leader of a joint-venture comprising the local Al Darwish Engineering and the Korean GS Engineering &Contracting, in association with the British Atkins as Lead Designer.The scope of Red Line South contract comprises the design and construction of the underground works below central Doha,including 5 underground stations, between the Misheired Underground Station and the New Doha International Airport and incorporates the main depot and maintenance facilities, in addition to two switchboxes.This package will approximately comprise 13.8 km twin bored tunnel at an average depth of 25 meters below ground level utilizing five tunnel boring machines.The Maximum depth point will approximately reach 50 m below ground level.This Project will be accomplished with high Health, Safety Environment and quality standards aligned with the Qatar Sustainable assessment System.Safety:Advise The Site Management team on matters in respect of Health, Safety and Environmental Requirements and site implementation.Carry out a scheduled site inspection at least daily, weekly, and monthly and as when required in compliance with legal regulation and company procedures.Participate actively to the weekly HSE inspections/monthly inspections.Conduct health,safety and environmental induction training to all employees,Conduct internal training as per site requirements.Asst the construction team, field engineers, foreman, supervisors and yard supervisors in their daily activity briefing, safety tool box talk meetings and safety coaching of the work force.Prepare HSE Weekly progress report.Ensure that safe methods of work are employed.Ensure that all applicable rules and regulation are being observed on site all timesConduct Emergency Evacuation drills

LRT QDVC is building the first railway transportation system in Qatar in the new city of Lusail. This is a true challenge to build a light metro in a town not yet existing; a challenge of anticipation of the future needs of the city. In this respect, the client has chosen an Early Contractor Involvement scheme with a Design & Build Contract, meaning that QDVC is involved in the project since Day one with the client and develops the concept along with their needs.The Project consists of: 4 tramways operating lines;10 underground stations + 26 at grade stations;10.4 km underground +22.7 km at-grade and elevated;1 viaduct +one interchange station over Al Khor Highway;1 depot for maintenance, storage operation facility,67 tramway vehiclesSafety: Ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the H&S Plan the Environmental Plan. The WMS and relevant HSE legislation. Attend safety meetings as required by QHSE Management. Stop the works when there is an immediate hazard to the safety of the workers. Encourage the work force to work safely and demonstrate good safety behaviour. Advise construction management and site supervision on safety issues. Communicate with work force on HSE issues. Advise construction management and site supervision on safety issues. Bring to the attention of the HSE Engineer instances where, after giving notice the production team fails to rectify an unsafe situation. Assist QHSE Management to conduct investigations after safety incidents or accidents. Carry out daily site inspections of all welfare and site areas to ensure that standards are being maintained. Produce reports for QHSE Management, when requested.
