Though wisdom cannot be gotten for gold, still less can it be gotten without it. — Samuel ButlerHaving grown up in a business family, I always knew that I wasn't here for the regular 9-5 desk job. The same willpower led me to quit my job as a Junior Engineer - Civil and join a Healthcare firm as a State Manager (which I had no clue about). To overcome any challenge that came my way, all I had was the determination to meet it head-on and the determination not to give up.This amazing journey made me realize my inclination toward Public Healthcare. I’d want you to know some interesting facts about the current scenario of healthcare in India:• In an effort to cope with this growth, public health expenditure has been on a rise since 2014, with an increasing share of the country’s GDP being distributed toward public health care. An estimated 1.6 trillion Indian rupees were spent on public healthcare in the year 2018.• As of 2017, the evaluation of the healthcare market of India amounted to approximately 160 billion U.S. dollars and was expected to be 370 billion U.S. dollars by 2022.With the alarming rate with which Public health is increasing as a share of the GDP of India, it seemed the right time to be a part of this journey. With that, I began my career as a State Manager - Sales for a Medical Device Company, and within five years I became the youngest Institutional business head in the company's history.Feels like a dream come true story when I look back at it, while the story behind the struggle and the downfalls in these 5 years goes unheard off.
