• Filtration & Tailing Section In-charge: o Shop floor maintenance, managing manpower, ensuring that other departments are properly coordinated, and o making sure that copper concentrate produced from the ceramic vacuum filters has the lowest possible moisture content and that High-Rate thickeners recover the most water possible. o Shutdown Planning & coordination for maintenance of plant & housekeeping activities.• Statistical office work: daily production report, operation data upkeeping, metal balancing, other reports generation and onward submission.• Planning, indenting and procurement of grinding media, flotation reagents, acids, flocculants, salt etc.• Involving preparation of production plans & schedules with a view to ensure timely accomplishment of production targets within the time and cost parameters ensuring that production goals are reached and budgets are kept to minimum. • Technical support for inhouse rebuilding and refurbishing of equipment on emergency basis.• Engineer in-charge of the contract for procuring a Handheld XRF analyzer by which we can able to monitor Cu% at each stage of the flotation process. • Planning & Utilization of Ordering materials & supplies; controlling stock variation by making the visual control of materials like GM balls, GM rods, Sodium Iso Propyl Xanthate, Pine Oil, Nitric acid, Oxalic acid and Flocculants for High-Rate Thickeners of 2.8 million Ton/Annum capacity Concentrate Plant. • Competent in liaising & coordinating with foreign clients for export of copper concentrate compliances and executing legal procedures.• Monitoring and controlling of sampling and regular testing to ensure higher performance of the plant and work on bench scale studies for further improvement.• In addition to the above I also look after other sections of the plant like crushing, grinding, and flotation when required.• Involved in the project “Procurement & execution of 25*20mm screen panel and replaced in output of crushers”
Assistant Manager (Concentrator)
• Shift-in-charge: As a shift-in-charge, my primary role was to handle the machine and man power of maximum production and best quality with the least breakdown.• All running shift maintenance jobs• Responsible for smooth operation of all the sections of plant i.e. crushing, grinding, flotation, filtration and tailing for achieving maximum recovery and milling target.• Troubleshooting & modifications for smooth operation of the plant.• Operation of plant with minimum man power.• Interdepartmental co-ordination with mechanical, electrical and instrumentation etc. • Monitoring and controlling all the process parameters and SOP to achieve optimum throughput, metal production, and other parameters (ore milling),• Subordinate development: guide and motivate the subordinate for the betterment of the plant. Engineer (Mineral Processing)
• Involved in the project for the removal of pyrite contamination from talc to improve its economic value, and further pilot scale studies were carried out using a 150-mm-dia pilot scale flotation column.• Suitable flotation reagents were evaluated using the Denver (Metso) D-12 laboratory flotation machine for the beneficiation of talc and ball clay.• Making daily sample analysis reports received from the talc and clay processing plants.• Handled mineralogical equipment such as the Malvern Panalytical XRF analyzer, XRD analyzer, petrographic microscope for liberation studies, etc.• Any R&D job relating to ball clay & talc.
Research Intern
• Completed several industry-sponsored projects on ‘Evaluation of reagents for flotation’. Laboratory flotation studies were carried out for various minerals, namely iron ores, graphite ore, limestone, barite, marble, and coal etc. The performance of newly developed reagents on these minerals was evaluated.• Significantly contributed as an active project member to one of the industry-sponsored projects pertaining to the liberation and beneficiation of low-grade limestone. Also involved in the development of process flow sheets by laboratory Denver cell and column flotation techniques and project report preparation.• Involved as an active member in a collaborative project involving studies on the beneficiation of coal fines by column flotation.• Visited Jamadoba Coal Preparation Plant, Tata Steel, Jamadoba, during the installation and commissioning of a 0.5-meter-dia. pilot-scale column for coal beneficiation studies as a project member. We also carried out various process parameter optimization studies on coal beneficiation pilot plant trials at the site.• Involved in the demonstration of the beneficiation process of marble slurry using a 75-mm-dia. laboratory-scale flotation column for industrial clients, namely, M/s Imerys Mineral India (P) Ltd.
