 Demonstrates leadership and interpersonal skills. Co-operation with the panel operators will monitor, control and optimize the process throughout in order to achieve required quality/ quantity standards and efficiencies. Initiates and leads troubleshooting activities with regards to recognizes and identifies major/minor process changes that impact unit performance, participates in planning and rectifying problem areas, participates in gathering appropriate resources to rectify problems, provides expertise and guidance in troubleshooting. Supervision of the Operations shift personnel, providing direction and leadership in achieving operational goals and objectives in support of facility objectives and key strategies. Maintain environmental compliance in accordance with environmental licenses and legislation and report all environmental deviations to the Operations Manager. Coordinating Maintenance activities for the shift including preparation of equipment Review and assist in the development of operating procedures for normal operation, start-up or shut-down of unit with Facility guidelines and standards. Ensure on shift emergency readiness and assume the responsibility of Emergency Response Coordinator in the operating area if required.  Demonstrate ability to deal effectively with process upset/ crisis situations. Coaching and mentoring of the shift personnel including appraisals Handle Emergency Management, Abnormal Situation Management, Operations Support and the Training. Participates in HAZOPS, Risk Assessments, Factory Acceptation Test and Site Acceptation Test” for DCS etc. Participate in safety audits and programs and provide emergency response when required. Facilitate Shift scheduling and operator vacation approval.

 Controlled process start-up, shutdown and troubleshooting equipment problems from Main control Room. Cooperation with the outside operations personnel will monitor, control and optimize the process throughout in order to achieve required quality/ quantity standards and efficiencies. Manage and Maintain Emergency Management, Abnormal Situation Management, Operations Support and the day-to-day direction of outside operations unit personnel. Initiates and leads troubleshooting activities with regards to recognizes and identifies major/minor process changes that impact unit performance, participates in planning and rectifying problem areas, participates in gathering appropriate resources to rectify problems, provides expertise and guidance in troubleshooting. Operates within unit Safety, Environmental and Production Parameters. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with process upset/ crisis situations. Sets priorities for the shift based on Panel round, Shift turn over and log entries, Maintenance requests, Throughput variations, Optimization opportunities. Optimize plant capacity in a safe and efficient manner. Collaborates with Shift Team Leader as to when deviation is required from operational or emergency procedures and practices. Demonstrated training and mentoring abilities. Provides direction to unit operating technicians with regards to perceived unsafe conditions from a process control perspective. Train the Panel Operators.

 Responsible for monitoring of units during normal operation Prepared Equipment handing over planning for major turndown of the refinery units. Prepared procedures for pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up, normal start-up, emergency scenario, and shutdown. Authorized or co-sign maintenance work order shutdown.  Isolate and prepare process unit or production equip. for maintenance. Participated in safety programs and provide emergency response when required. Train the Operators. Collected products sample, record data and write production logbooks. Controlled process start-up, shutdown and troubleshooting equipment problems and perform minor maintenance and services.
